Public Doesn’t Need to Know Everything

Can someone at Style Weekly please explain to me why in the world you awarded -3 points to the city zeigeist on the news that public access to personal information was closed down (“The Score,” Street Talk, April 11)?

I refer to the database of people with permits to carry concealed weapons, which for a time was opened but then removed from public view. Are you arguing for the release of any information the government may have about any individual?

I fail to see how this information is anyone else’s business. And so it follows that I fail to understand how this action by the attorney general can be regarded as anything but a positive one by those who respect the privacy of others.
