Shire Photo Booth: Capture your essence as you explore the Shire. Bring yourself or your fellowship to take a photo in our Lord of the Rings portrait set. No reservation required, a photographer will be available.

Scavenger Hunt

Hobbit Dance – Square Dance in the Shire
10 a.m.-noon Registration begins Saturday, Dec. 20

For adults

A Hobbit Party-themed dance! Join RVA Square Dance for a simple square dance tutorial, then frolic to Hobbit tunes in true Shire style. Party frocks and fancy hats encouraged but not required.

Second Breakfast Club for Teens
10 a.m.-noon

For teens ages 12-18

Calling all Hobbits! We’re second breakfasting and playing “The Lord of the Rings”-inspired tabletop games together. Cosplay encouraged. Registration is not required, but space is limited to 12 intrepid heroes.

Dungeons & Dragons Hobbit Campaign for Teens
1-2:30 p.m.

For teens ages 12-18

Explore the realms of Middle Earth with our resident Dungeon Master! Quest to the Misty Mountains or battle strange foes in this “The Lord of the Rings”-inspired D&D campaign. Registration is not required, but space is limited to 12 intrepid heroes.

Adult Tolkien Story Time
1-2:30 p.m. Registration begins Saturday, Dec. 20

For adults

Pull up a chair, pour a cup of tea, and join other grownups for Readings and Riddles from Tolkien’s writings, followed by a Hobbit door craft time.

Middle-Earth Costume Contest
3-4:30 p.m.

For all ages

Come as your favorite hobbit, dwarf, elf, human, wraith or wizard! There will be prizes for the top three costumes. No registration required.
